The 2022 BMW M8 is the Bavarian automaker's flagship luxury performance car, powered by a 617-horsepower twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 and a sport-tuned all-wheel-drive system that puts it on a par with some of the world's fastest cars. Not only is the M8 quick, but it's also supremely comfortable, thanks to an adaptive suspension setup that switches between racetrack stiffness and boulevard cruiser softness at the touch of a button.

The BMW M8 is based on the resurrected 8 Series, which was introduced in 2019. It is available as a coupe, convertible, or four-door Gran Coupe (reviewed separately). The two-door models face off against the Porsche 911 Turbo, Bentley Continental GT, Aston Martin DB11, and other six-figure grand tourers. How does it fare in comparison to such august company?
