In a recent announcement, MediaTek and Micron have officially announced the validation of LPDDR5X RAM on their platforms.
Micron and MediaTek just announced next-generation RAM validation. They are said to have validated DRAM low-power double data rate 5X or shortened to LPDDR5X.
To do this validation, they used the latest SoC from MediaTek, namely Dimensity 900 5G. This SoC was chosen because the LPDDR5X RAM is designed for high-end and flagship smartphones.
The Micron LPDDR5X enables the smartphone ecosystem to unlock the next wave of data-intensive applications powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology and 5G innovation.
The speed of this RAM is also not kidding, because it can support data rates up to 7.5 Gb/s with samples that support data rates up to 8.533 Gb/s. The top speed of LPDDR5X is 8,533 Gb/s, which results in up to 33% faster performance than the previous generation LPDDR5.
"Our collaboration with MediaTek aims to validate the world's most advanced mobile memory, empowering the ecosystem to deliver the next rich mobile features, enhanced by 5G and AI," said Raj Talluri, senior vice president and general manager of Micron's Mobile Business Unit in a press release. received by the editor of Tek.id (21/11).
On the other hand, MediaTek is very excited to be able to use this latest generation of technology. "With its blazing-fast mobile memory, the Micron LPDDR5X meets this challenge for flagship devices," said JC Hsu, corporate vice president and general manager of the Wireless Communications Business Unit Division at MediaTek.
“Dimensity 9000 will be the first to support this important LPDDR5X advancement, giving operators and device makers the capabilities they need to deliver exceptional 5G experiences at a flagship level.”
