The leaked price of the OPPO electric scooter has been revealed

The company also appears to have started holding talks with manufacturers for batteries and other components.

OPPO is reportedly planning to launch electric vehicles in India in 2023 and 2024, with the first offering coming in the form of an affordable electric scooter. Informant Yogesh Brar has shared some details about OPPO's electric vehicle launch

The information reveals that OPPO's plans are still in the early stages, which means the launch time is uncertain at the moment and may even be accelerated. OPPO is also aiming for a price range of around 60,000 rupees (Rp 11.5 million) for the electric scooter, which puts it in a league of its own considering most scooters currently cost over 100,000 rupees (Rp 19 million).

Reporting from Gizmochina (25/11), OPPO is also working on a compact electric car similar to the Tata Nano. A lot of people will remember that the Nano was launched with a starting price of just 100,000 rupees, and if OPPO really wanted to make a car this compact, it would likely make it quite affordable too. This becomes very clear by the fact that OPPO designs electric cars and scooters primarily for city trips. As such, both will offer limited range.

The company appears to have started holding talks with manufacturers for batteries and other components. Some of these companies even supply parts to brands like Tesla – which makes sense considering that electric vehicles are OPPO's first, and the company wants to get things off the ground.

Recently, it was revealed that OPPO had applied for trademarks in 2018 for various electric vehicles, along with other BBK Electronics subsidiaries, realme, OnePlus, and vivo. This could mean that the company may be the first in several Chinese tech companies to want to break into India's electric vehicle scene.
