Flash call is a new way of verifying numbers with automatic dialing, instead of messages or SMS.
WhatsApp is currently working on improving the security of its users. Recently, the company is known to launch two new security features, namely Flash call and Message level reporting.
Flash call is a new way of verifying numbers with automatic dialing, instead of messages or SMS. This feature works when new Android users install or reinstall WhatsApp on their device. Quoted from Gizmochina (23/11), WhatsApp claims this feature is a much safer option, because everything is done inside the application.
Meanwhile, Message level reporting is useful when users want to report specific accounts. Users can flag certain messages from the account by pressing the message for some time. This shortens the steps instead of having to open the profile of the account and choose block or report.
Message level reporting is intended to deal with spam messages, messages that contain harassment, or that are illegal or criminal in nature. In its report, WhatsApp said it had blocked more than 2.2 million accounts last September.
In addition, WhatsApp has also recently presented the ability that users have been waiting for, namely integration on laptop or PC devices without an internet connection. Users can open WhatsApp on other devices, without a smartphone that must be connected to the internet.
Previously, users had to have a stable internet connection on their smartphone to be able to use the messaging service on other devices such as desktop PCs, or laptops. In other words, it must be linked to a smartphone for the conversation to sync.
